Summer is really hot in southern California, and it is hard to find shade. We had a nice inflatable swimming pool for a while, but my brothers were rough and it broke. And swarms of bees were constantly coming to drink the water while we were bathing. We went to the playground in the morning or late afternoon, when the ground wasn't so hot.

My brothers learned how to bike without training wheels...

...while I rested in the shade of the garage.

We had lots of baths.

Plenty of tomatoes from our small garden.

And we rested in the shade some more.
